So my husband and I decided to have lunch at Robinsons Place, Manila and play Gashapon aka Capsule toys. My husband loves collecting the Naruto set while I try to collect those cute puppies together with some Disney characters. Mind you, even if I think of it as a total waste of money, at times it can really be fun too.
After playing, we went looking for a place to eat. Since I know that my husband has never tried Arya Persian Restaurant, I immediately suggested that we eat there so he can try Persian cuisine, even if I know it's going to cost us a little for lunch. We're kind of in a save-mode lately but we still decided to jump right in.
>Arya Persian Restaurant
I wasn't a first timer at Arya but I'm sure my husband is. If I remember it correctly, I ate there about a year and a half ago where I got the impression of it as an expensive restaurant... It costs a little too much for my budget. Although I couldn't really recall what I ordered when I first dined at Arya, I know it did taste good.
My husband and I ordered for the following:
- Roti - P215.00
This dish is served with 6 generous slices of whole wheat unleavened flat bread pan fried and served with curry sauce. By the looks of it at first I thought it was a tomato based sauce because of its color and texture, not until my husband told me it isn't. We both loved it! It's a definite must try in their appetizers!
- Beef Koobideh - P325.00
My husband tried this one... It's a dish of skewers of ground beef seasoned with spices and onion served with Basmati / Jasmine or Persian bread.
- Bareh Koobideh - P375.00
I love lamb and so I ordered for this. This is almost the same as what my husband ordered only this is a skewers of ground lamb. Oh, and should you take rice to go with your orders there is an additional P20.00 because they use Jasmine long grain rice which I think is REALLY good!
- Iced Tea - P70.00
All our orders came with grilled tomatoes which can be made into a salad by the waiter. The tomato is first peeled then seasoned with freshly ground pepper and topped with yogurt garlic sauce and then mashed.
A serving is actually good for two by the way. I didn't actually realized it until the food arrived. We were so full that we didn't had room in our stomach to take in some desserts.
This experience totally changed my initial impression of it because not only do they have a cozy ambiance to dine in topped with really fast and pleasant service, but they also have a generous amount of servings too! Not bad for a twice a week or once in a while food tripping.
Overall we had a good and satisfying meal.
I give Arya Persian Restaurant a 4 out of 5 stars.
