Clay Fest 2011

Clay fest venue + banners of 2 of its sponsors - Nendo & Clayzee
Craft Time Magazine & The Beadlady Sparklers were also sponsors of the event

As mentioned in my previous blog entry regarding the clay fest 2011, the event was held last February 25-26 at Marikina Shoe Expo, Cubao.

It was my first time to attend the said event and I must say that by hosting this event, The Beadlady not only made a lot of people happy but also helped clay artists/entrepreneurs in a lot of different ways namely...

  • Provided venue for clay artists/entrepreneurs to showcase their talents:
one of a kind lockets by Jen Cruz of Purpleluggage
pill boxes & wedding inspired items again by Jen Cruz of Purpleluggage

personalized compact mirrors by Angel of Angel Clay Shop
yummy cupcakes by Khim of Calix Clay World
cute chibis by Rachel of Rafels Clay Station

  • Meet, interact and create connections with people loving the same hobby/craft:
(l-r) with close friends - Melody of Crafting Time & Rocky of Rockybeads (my super talented mentor)
this time with Jen of Purpleluggage
of course we won't let the day pass without a shot with the hostess Angeli of The Beadlady and Joyce!
with my fave chibi maker, Thina of Claythinz
now together with the lovely girls behind the famous online shops

I also got the chance to meet in person the lovely ladies behind the online shops who distributes Nendo in their respective areas:

my good friend, Angel of Angel Clay Shop
Khim of Calix Clay World
Rachel of Rafel's Clay Station
Jessica of Johzco Clay

and

Angeli of The Beadlady Craft Cafe & Art Studio

  • And provided lots of new learnings in the craft through live demonstrations and workshops:
Nendo & Clayzee demos

Sparklers demo

And the clay sculpting l doll making l cake topper workshop with Jen, which I am very thankful to be a part of! I will blog about my workshop with Jen too, soon. Meanwhile, here are some of the photos taken during the workshop:
Our talented and really kind guru, Jen of Purpleluggage
and her students enjoying the workshop
our finished projects... really really pretty!

All in all it has been a very fun and knowledge filled activity. I had so much fun reuniting with good friends and also meeting new ones. The event imparted lots of new learnings as well as inspirations. Those 2-days office leaves were really spent well. Too bad I had to leave a little early those 2 days because little P was sick... I would've loved to stay and join them in this year's clay fest group picture.
But it's all good.

Thank you so much Angeli for the wonderful experience. More power and looking forward to more Clay Fests!

PS: Thanks Pinay Crafter & Thina for some of the photos Ü

The Beadlady: Clay Fest 2011

I got this in my inbox today... Angeli, The Beadlady, herself sent me this!Ü

You're probably wondering what's making me so giddy.. well other than the event itself which I am about to tell you in a while, I also feel excited every time I get to hear from one of the artsy-craftsy guru I admire so much! Now what can be more exciting that that?

Oh! here's one... The Annual Philippine CLAY FEST 2011 that's happening this month!

The Annual Philippine Clay Fest is mainly organized by Ms Angeli Sobrepena. This event started last year with the goal of  bringing clay crafters across the country together and to showcase talents of 14 clay crafters. Now thank God because they're doing it again!

This is actually my first time to join the event, nevertheless, I am so excited about the following things:

  • Workshop - I will be attending the clay sculpting / mini-doll / cake topper class to be conducted by Jenn Cruz of Purpleluggage. Check out her site HERE to see all her great creations.
  • Free Demos - I feel 50/50 on this. 50% happy because who wouldn't be happier to see FREE demonstration on creating cute creations made of polyclay but 50% nervous at the same time. I dread this part because I am one of the people who will have to conduct free demonstration for Nendo polyclay. And if you know me personally, you'll know just how unprepared I am when it comes to showing how to do things in front of a group of people I barely know. Thank God for friends like Angel of Angel Clay Shop because she'll be with me on this!
  • Exhibits - feast on all the wonderful creations of the event exhibitors...
  • Games - now I am a little clueless of what games were prepared but I'm sure that this will be one of the highlights of the event.
  • Fellowship - what can be more exciting than meeting and getting inspirations from hobbyists who enjoys doing the same craft as you (I) do - personally?
  • Shopping - every girl's favorite... EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT on all the yummy and vintage inspired one-of-a-kind clay accessories and tools you'll be able to see in the event... just make sure to ready those pockets!☺
So all you - boys and girls, whether you're a newbie or already an expert in this craft, clay crafter or not, a clay sculptor or just in search for one of a kind accessories, what are you waiting for? Go mark those calendars... Block the dates - February 25-26, 2011 from 0400pm 'til 12mn, meet us at The Beadlady Craft Cafe and Art Studio, Cubao Expo Quezon City.

See you there! ♥
