Purpleluggage goes on SALE!

I rarely buy myself accessories.
I guess that's one down side to being an artist who can bead and clay because instead of buying you end up telling yourself you'll just save some money and make yourself your own.

But once in a while I still do and I never regret buying them cos most of the time I buy them from really great artists -- who also happens to be my craft mentors. What happens to the purchases you ask?
I use them once or twice then save them in my collection box.

And a couple of months ago, when I heard that one of my mentors, Jen of Purpleluggage,
is having a big sale, I took the chance to get myself a couple of her really cute hand works.

Here take a lookie...

The picture above was priced at P430.00.
It's a vintage inspired locket pendant covered in clay using caning and antiquing techniques.

And here's a blue ball chain necklace with cupcake dog pendant at P200.00.
See just how adorable it is?

Plus here's a Christmas gift she sent me together with the purchase.
A heart bag charm with my name on it!

Isn't she the sweetest?

Jen is known for being a great clay sculptor and master at canning too!
And if you're interested in owning one of her items or would like to request for something personalized that is made of clay, head on to her shop at PURPLELUGGAGE

I'm really grateful for having the chance of meeting home grown great artists like Jen.
All of them, my mentors, are really kind at heart and genuinely sweet.

If you're considering about learning the craft, feel free to follow my blog and allow me to introduce to you some of the best artists I know... plus where to shop for hard to find tools/materials! ☺

I still have one blog entry to post. It's been long overdue and the reason being is
the projects I'm doing myself here at home for the said blog post is not yet finish. Projects using the techniques I learned from the workshop. I'm seriously thinking of just leaving the projects and just post about them after 'cos it's really taking so long.

But really you have to watch out for that post 'cos I will be introducing another amazingly talented yet one of the kindest and sweetest clay artist I've ever met. I'm lucky to have her as one of my mentors.

Watch out for it okay?

xoxo

Old Projects

Here are some of the photos of the projects I did last December 2011 :)

I attempted to make another CF inspired Dragon... A very simple one so it won't end up the same as my 1st attempt. I made this using Nendo C14, C28, C27, C47 and Cg5 clay.

Even with a book to guide me, every now and then I still find myself lost in making this type of project. But I will keep on doing this over and over until I am satisfied with my work. After all, I do heart dragons!

This is the rose which I latter on made as pendant for F's necklace here :) It looks a lot cuter with a brighter light, right? hihi.

I made lockets too...

I gave this handmade locket to Alyssa of Klayola during our Christmas Get-together at Ying-ying.

This locket on the other hand is one of the gifts I gave my monita in the same get together celebration.

Both were remakes of some of the locket designs I sold at the 1st Clay Friends Bazaar last November 2011 at Megatent, Ortigas. I really enjoyed doing these lockets.

And of course I made my Nendo minion...

Lots of them actually.. I love Penguins!

PS: The lockets together with the minions are all made using NENDO polyclay too *winkwink

Christmas Cuties

I made this for F. She gave this as gifts to her friends in school -- COOKIES!

Here's a closer look at some of them...

And a rose for F...

I had so much fun making this simple goodies for the kids. And I'm looking forward for more craft time so I can make lots of them soon.

Love for Friends

A cake topper for our friends, Jenn and Rodney, who recently tied the knot...
Since I wanted to make this really special and couldn't muster the courage to make the topper myself, I had this done by my mentor Jen of Purpleluggage.

A handmade zipper pull with nameplate by yours truly for my friend, Michelle...

A box with some of my Nendo clays and lockets for my clay mentor and dear friend who's now in Sydney, Rocky...

Another handmade gift this time for my CFSPh monita... Lux.
I made this using NENDO polymer clays sprinkled with Klayola mica shimmers.

I hope the gifts brought smiles to dear friends. A little something full of love from me to let them know just how much I value their friendship.

Come back and visit again for more handmade gifts I am sending out to friends -- yup I still have some more scheduled to give out. winkwink

Extensive Chibi Workshop with Claythinz

When I was just starting to work with clays, my chibis looked like this:

Yes I know, they all looked scary! Even I can't stand the very sight of them. Lol. So I kept practicing and somehow managed to improve and created something more presentable...

I'm happy that people around me find them cute now but I wasn't really happy with the improvement because even if they look better, I can't seem to make their size smaller... at least small enough to make as cellphone charms.

I wanted to make personalized gifts for family and friends that are small yet pretty for them to hang on to their mobile phones but my chibis always end up as big as a charm for a pendant or even a cake topper, haha!

I wanted so bad to make small ones and really improve on creating mini-MEs hence my decision to join another workshop. This time with the chibi queen herself who also happens to be a good friend of mine, Thina of Claythinz.

Why her workshop? Well other than she is the Chibi Queen, she also makes really tiny yet BEAUTIFUL chibis -- and mind you, she's really good at it!

If you get to see these lovelies in person, I bet the first word that will ever come out of your mouth is "WOW!". Yes that's how awesome her chibis really are.

So last July 28, 2011 I had my workshop with Thina at home. A workshop specifically designed for one to learn the art of creating one of a kind detailed chibis. Love of Labor of Love also came to join us. It was such a fun day!☺

Love with Thina

I considered the workshop to be an extensive one because I feel that other than a refresher of my basic chibi workshop with Poxee, it also introduced a wider range of techniques in creating small yet very detailed chibis. But since we were not really able to maximize the day -- I had to take care of my baby and take the workshop at the same time, my mentor Thina was generous enough to give me a second round! Only the round 2 happened a couple of months after, October 09, 2011 due to both our hectic schedules (or was it just mine?) haha!

We still did it at home, only this time we had it in our other unit. And I was able to prepare for it more than I did the first one... Here take a lookie!

and there's still 3 of us because Cherry of Crafty CB joined us!

Cherry with Thina

Serious?

I am glad I decided to take this workshop... Not only have I learned how to make my chibis smaller, I also learned a whole lot of techniques and tricks... oh and hairstyles too! ☺

my workshop projects
Now every time I find myself a little confused or in the middle of nowhere whenever I am making my chibi Thina is always kind enough to answer my questions despite her busy schedule. Isn't that one of the most important things to consider when choosing our mentors?

I highly recommend this workshop for all those who'd like to learn how to make really special and fab chibis! If you wanna learn how just hit her facebook link below. ☺

Oh! And here's a picture of my most recent work that I made for our house help, Bibi.

It may look a little big -- but it's not! ☺ Just perfect for a mobile charm ♥

I give this workshop a 5 out of 5 stars.
