She's my little smarty princess...

Look just how fast she has grown...

And she is about to turn one SOON! 

*sigh, how time flies...

We're actually celebrating her birthday a little earlier than her actual birth date because we're holding the celebration on her Chinese birth date. 

And because of this, I am in so much rush!

Why? 

Because even if my initial plan of making her party souvenirs myself didn't pushed through, due to my carpal tunnel syndrome, I still decided to make something handmade for her birthday...

And this is our "thank you" gift for her soon-to-be godparents. Here, let me show it to you...

I almost can't believe that I was the one who made it... A lot of people really liked it. And I really hope the godparents would love it too... Now I just need to make 12 more of it and find a good gift box to put it into. ♥

Crocheted Shoe

Just trying out a pattern... This is my 1st ever crocheted show! Although I am aware that I still have to make some corrections and choose a better yarn color + decorative button since I am making this for my baby girl's feet.

Nonetheless, this is my 1st successful crocheted baby shoe ☺

My 1st Crocheted Booties

A couple of weeks ago I was able to make one really nice crocheted mittens for the princess using a size-8 local Cannon thread. Immediately after seeing the mittens done, I wanted to do a pair of booties that'll match the cute mittens -- using the same materials.

But it didn't turn out as easy as I have imagined it to be for several reasons: 

1. I got frustrated trying to find a non-complex bootie pattern that will come out just fine as the mittens. 

2. I got confused several times with the pattern directions and... 

3. it'-just-not-as-easy-as-I-thought-it-would-be.

Yet determined mom as I was, I kept telling myself I have to keep looking, I will come up with one! So with that in mind I kept looking-downloading patterns, trying, crocheting and undoing what I've done... Until finally I was able to come up with a simple but cute booties that can match the mittens I have done! Hooray to that!

The said pair of booties is actually now done... I won't be able to post the picture with this blog though because I feel a little dizzy-lazy-tired to do that right now. Must be due to all the walking I've done this afternoon. But hopefully, you'll see the photo posted here, on the same entry, by tomorrow or the day after that. Once the laziness in me died down Ü

And now that I am done with my 1st mittens-booties pair, I am hoping that I'd still be able to come up with at least another pair of booties-mittens, this time using the Indonesia yarn given to me by my friend Lorie... before the smarty princess is born.

My 1st Crocheted Mittens

Last night, for the first time since I re-learned crochet, I started to appreciate the locally available threads in the country.

Since I have not made any project in weeks now... with nothing much to do, I decided to pick the said threads and hooks up again and thought of something interesting to do.

At this rate, who else would I like to give most of my projects to but the pretty princess in my womb!

So I immediately searched the patterns I have saved, which were all provided by online friends who shares the same interest by the way and found a very interesting one.

I decided to do the free pattern provided by Mimi Alelis, a friend from Ravelry.Com. The pattern she provided actually uses a cannon size 8 mercerized cotton crochet thread and a 2.00mm hook... That made me really excited and actually anxious at the same time. I have this crazy thinking that if I use a cannon thread or any thin thread/yarn, the actual size of the project would be a lot smaller than what I plan for it to be.

But since the pattern indicated the kind of thread I actually dread using, still, I attempted to do one. After all, I already have bought tons of the said thread which I don't want to put to waste by just storing them up in the cabinet... Plus, I wouldn't really know unless I try, right? So I did....

And guess what!? I am actually very happy with the outcome -- not to mention the size!!! With the way the project turned out, I am definitely sure it'll fit the princess perfectly! Now I'm beginning to really love the easily available thread!

Hunting Clothes

In preparation of my daughter's upcoming Christening happening this week, we went on a shopping spree today. Ü

I am happy because not only did we had a wonderful time bonding, I also feel that the items we bought today were all great finds! Why? Here let me show you some of our purchases...

Party Dress @ P780.00

We got this really nice dress from Twilo. This is the first time I found out and entered this shop. They cater to female kids clothes. They offer casual clothes to party dresses for little girls. Designs are really nice, the fabrics and materials used on their clothes and dresses are all so baby/kids friendly... Plus the price - - super affordable!

We got this fabulous party dress for PM's Christening. Super pretty right? I am glad we entered the shop!

We also got this casual dress from the same shop. You know how sometimes little girls end up feeling itchy and wanting to remove their party dresses in the middle of the party? This is the reason we got this... She will be changing into this cotton-y dress if ever she ends up perspired or itchy, wearing her red princess party dress, from playing during her birthday party. I love the fabric used on this dress. I also love how the color compliments her complexion! Really really cute!

It was a little tough finding her the right shoes. Glad Suki has them. This shoes would match perfectly on both her red and gold dresses! Lesser stuff to bring with us to the party.

While I was able to get me a pair of maong jeans... Look, look!

Maong Jeans @ P1300.00

I have been wanting to get a new pair of maong jeans from the time I gave birth. Since I gained SO MUCH weight from pregnancy and haven't really lost much of it, I could not wear any of my pre-pregnancy (old) jeans. 

Honestly, I would really love to be able to wear my old jeans, but every time I try to wear them and realize just how much I've grown I end up feeling depressed. Me forcing myself to fit into my old clothes is not helping me in anyway. And so I think it would be best for me to just give up on them at the moment - - I think I won't be able to wear any of them any time soon anyway so might as well give the old clothes up and get me new ones that would fit the me now. That way I won't get so frustrated at the same time make my husband mad (he really hates seeing me go on a diet - I don't know why he prefers me chubby) while I try to gradually lose all the weight. 

Going back, I really really enjoyed this day... Not only because of the cheap purchases but most especially of the time spent hunting clothes with my family and my mom Ü
