{MTO} Jacob Frames

Date: October 2013
Event: Baptismal souvenir for godparents
Request: 4R Clay decorated picture frame

I had fun making this project!
Like most of the orders I received in the past, there was no particular design instruction for this project. I'm actually grateful because the customer who ordered this was not only patient but trusting; she entrusted everything to me -- from the colours, to the frame down to the design itself.

I'm happy because I was able to find the exact frame I have pictured in mind to use for this project. And because the frame itself was really nice, I decided to keep the clay decoration simple and minimal; this way the design can easily fit into the lovely homes of the receiver.

Here's a picture of one of the frames in action...
photo courtesy of Susan. Thank you!
And a very kind message Susan posted on Facebook & her IG accounts after she received the frames:

I'm grateful that I was given the chance not only to make another cute project; but also the opportunity to have a new friend in Susan -- not only does she have a pretty face, she is also one of the sweetest!

I still have 3 pending frames due and this time it's for her kids.
I must go find a new set of cute frames for this project!

ArtNouveauPH Goes Steampunk

Last October, we at Art Nouveau Ph has chosen Steampunk for our October challenge. That decision was derived from the fact that most of us find creating pieces using tiny gears challenging.

Initially I wanted to make use of my Christi Friesen book but since I already made dragons in the past, why not push myself to create something I've always wanted to make -- an owl designed card holder!

Materials used:
- Nendo Flexible clays
- Nendo Pixie Dusts
- Watch gears
- Inks
- Metal chains
- Blank card case
- Texture sheet

I love how it turned out; just exactly the way I wanted it to be -- steampunk with a touch of cuteness!
Hop on to our group's Facebook page to check out the awesome entries of my guildmates!

A & A Lasso

I got to make another wedding cord for two very close people to my heart!
But unlike the first one that I did, I encountered challenges on this one...

Packaging

The cord

It was my first time to use my metal stamps hence the way it turned out...
I realised the importance of using a tape. Nevertheless, it mixed well with the vintage finish and it looks cute in person, hihi.

A day after the photo has been cured I woke up with it reacting to the sealant that I used. It totally broke my heart! So I had to make another one and came up with this...

And I loved it!
I think it was my creative angel's doing why I wasn't successful on the first photo...
she knew the second one would be better!

I was so excited about this couple tying the knot, seeing the cord in the wedding was an extra bonus...
The light's reflection on the beads make it twinkle like stars -- so lovely!

Congrats to the very lovely couple!

Another handmade sprinkled with so much love!

On Video Making

I've never been good with computers. I'm grateful that I'm blessed with a creative mind & hands but sadly, they're just no good when it comes to the techie stuff.
And in the X years of my life I've yet to explore how to make a video presentation!
I guess it's never too late to start now, is it?

So here's a short video clip that I made... It's just a very simple one, nothing fancy really.
I'll explore more and hopefully learn the tricks to creating awesome videos for presentation!

For now here's a 20 seconds video from me... Enjoy!

How about some Bottle Caps?

It's been weeks since the creative moxie paid me a visit...
But since I've been sick with my 2 kulilits - we've been suffering from phlegm, coughs and asthma which started when we got back from abroad, I wasn't able to do anything but see to it that the 2 kulilits feel comfortable as much as possible while I try to squeeze in rest for my body every chance I get.

Today since the antibiotics looks like they're doing a great job at releasing the phlegm out of the body, the kids are starting to feel better -- I was able to work in my craft room for a good 5-10 minutes!
Finally I was able to play with my caps!

So here's what I was able to accomplish...

A giant paper clip

and...

a pair of hair clips

I'll have them listed in my FB and IG account. In case you're interested to order, the image can be changed to your photo or logo by the way, just let me know by sending me a message.

{Sample} Baby in Blanket

I made a female version of my Baby in Blanket...

I'm thinking of changing / adding variation to the head part -- instead of the 3-4 strands of hair...
I'll try to make another sample on my next vacant time.

For souvenirs like this should you wish to have the celebrant's name added, if its just a 3-4 letter name, we can opt to attach it at the back of the baby's blanket like this,

Or we can still place it on a name plate and attach it with the baby.

What do you think?
